Shangrila Resort, Skardu, Pakistan Beautiful Pakistan - Shangrila Lake or Lower Kachura Lake is a part of the Shangrila resort located at a drive of about 20 minutes from Skardu (nearly 2,500 m or 8,200 feet) town. It is a popular tourist destination, and has a unique resta urant that is built on the fuselage of an aircraft that had crashed nearby. Shangrila was established in 1983 with the opening of the first Resort Hotel in Skardu, Baltistan. چونگاں - پمنکے Caralluma Fimbriata / Tuberculata - Choongan - Pamankay - Bitter Cress Vegetable کارالوما ٹیوبرکلوٹا ایک خوردنی سبزی ہے۔ اس کا تعلق کیکٹس کے خاندان سے ہے۔ اس کا ذائقہ کڑوا ہوتا ہے اور پاکستان ہندوستان کے علاقوں میں کریلے کی طرح پکا کراستعمال ہوتا ہے۔ اُردو /پنجابی میں اس پودے کو "چونگاں"، پشتو میں "پمنکے" اور انگریزی میں بِٹرکریس" کہتے ہیں جبکہ نباتاتی نام "کارالوما فیمبریاٹا" ہے جبکہ پاکستان میں اس کی "کارالوما ٹیوبرکلوٹا" قسم عام طور پر پائی جاتی ہے۔ یہ ایک خوردنی پودا ہے جو اپنے اندر بہت سارے طبعی خواص رکھتا ہے۔ یہ نہ صرف ایک سبزی کے طور پر ہمارے کھانوں میں شامل ہوتا ہے بلکہ اس کے بہت سارے میڈیسنل فوائد بھی ہیں خاص کر وزن کم کرنے اور بھوک کو کم کرنے کیلئے استعمال کے ساتھ ساتھ اوربھی بہت ساری بیماریوں کے علاج میں استعمال ہوتا ہے۔ یورپ اور امریکہ میں اس کے ایکسٹریکٹ یعنی عرقیات اور پاوڈر عام طور پر مارکیٹ میں مل جاتے ہیں۔ ای بے اور ایمزون جیسی ویب سائٹس پر اس کی فروخت باقاعدگی سے ہورہی ہے جہاں پر اس کے طبعی خو

Periwinkle - Medicinal Plant

Periwinkle is a beautiful evergreen vine-plant commonly available in two colors Dark Green and Marble Green. It can be easily founded in the Swat, Abbottabad, Islamabad zones and Northern Areas of Pakistan, spotted creeping down steep hillsides and banks. It is also used as spreading shrub. Cat's Claw is a common vine plant in the District Swat also available in many different areas of the country. Mostly grows wild in the area. People grow it as ornamental plant in their houses and gardens. This vine is a good wall creeper. Its lush green leaves looks very beautiful with vibrant yellow flowers. Its botanical name is " Dolichandra unguis-cati ". The stems are woody and can reach 20 meters. Thin and small aerial roots are used for climbing. The leaves are dark green in color . The leaflets have a length of 3 to 4 cm. The plant produces flowers during the wet season. The flowers have a diameter of 4 to 5 cm and can grow alone or in groups of 2 or 3. The long primary roots extend beneath the soil surface, producing large tubers 40–50 centimetres long. The fruits are brown flattened capsules from 25 to 95 cm long.
